Lillian "Marie" Wallace is an applied anthropologist and social worker whose research interests includes global mental health, social service delivery, program evaluation, aging, the intersections of technology and aging, technology, social change and work, and the use of technology in adjunctive/complimentary support for trauma related issues. In addition to her human services focused work, Wallace also has an interest in researching successful pedagogical techniques for undergraduate students. Her most recent works addressed issues of cultural appropriation, historical trauma at the International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences 2018 Congress in Florianopolis, Brazil, IUAES 2019 Intercongress in Poznan, Poland, and IUAES 2023 Congress in Delhi, India. Wallace is involved in the Marginalization and Global Apartheid Commission and the Commission on Women in the International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences. She also recently presented at the European Association of Social Anthropologists with a group of international scholars where they focused on knowledges and knowledge control. She has advanced degrees in anthropology, social work, and educational technology.
