Shawna Matteson, BS

Hello! My name is Shawna Matteson, an AZ Online advisor for the College of Applied Science and Technology Cyber Operations program. I was born and raised in Texas where most of my family currently resides. I received my bachelor's degree in Family Studies & Human Development from Abilene Christian University, which coincidentally has a Wildcat mascot as well! Go Wildcats, of all kinds! I have been in the field of education in some form for many years. I started my Student Services journey in a variety of Administrative and Student Services roles at The University of Texas at Austin (2002-2011). I have worked at The University of Arizona for the past 10 years, 8 ½ of which have been in advising roles. In my personal time, I love working on projects and walking around our property with my husband and cat, Sid. I enjoy reading, designing and piecing quilts, and visiting family back in Texas. Professionally, I love working directly with students to help them identify and reach their academic and professional goals.
