Dr. Nicole Achey is an limited term adjunct instructor at the University of Arizona, College of Applied Science and Technology. Her additional positions include Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation and Human Services at the University of Rehabilitation Services at the University of Maine at Farmington. Dr. Achey received her Ph.D. in Human Development from the University of Maine at Orono, her Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado, and a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Services from the University of Maine at Farmington. Dr. Achey is co-author of a workbook, in the press, related to undergraduate human services students' professional development and is a guide to internship success, and she has authored an introduction chapter for students with disabilities traveling abroad, in press. Dr. Achey has had the opportunity to publish articles in the American Journal of Sexuality Education, Rehabilitation Counseling Bulletin, and Journal of Applied Rehabilitation Counseling, and has presented her research at both state and national conferences. Her research interests includes professional development of undergraduate human services students, advocacy for individuals with ID/DD related to their sexuality, and vocational rehabilitation and overcoming barriers to employment for people with disabilities.
