Academic Advisor II

Kayla is a University of Arizona Alumni she earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2016 and began her career teaching second grade where she taught for five years at Clawson Elementary School. In 2021, she decided to take the leap into higher education and became a joint academic advisor for UA Distance and Cochise College. Her primary role was assisting transfer students to make a seamless transfer from the community college to the university and achieve their academic goals. Kayla enjoys assisting students and is thrilled to advise students from AZ Online. She lives locally in Arizona, in a border town with her family of four. She is a mommy to a three-year-old boy and a six-month-old baby girl. In her free time Kayla enjoys spending time with family and friends having cook outs, camping, traveling, attending community events, and watching movies. In the near future, Kayla plans to pursue a master’s degree in higher education.
