Brandy (Brown) Perkl, PhD

Associate Professor of Practice,
Mentoring Trainer & Consultant
Co-PI (AWARDSS Program)

Dr. Perkl is an Industrial-Organizational Psychologist by training and a mentorship and leadership advocate by design. Dr. Perkl (back when she was Dr. Brown) used these skills to help found the Organizational Leadership program at the University of Arizona. Along with her MS in Applied Psychology, she also has a specialty in Occupational Health which led her to focus originally on making the world of work better for everyone through education. Today, she continues to use her background to help others learn to build culturally inclusive environments through leader-, follower-, and mentor-ship.

As a professor and trainer, she's deeply invested in the success and individual development of every student that elects to attend her curated learning experiences. Her broader work with the AWARDS grant supporting underrepresented students' paths to PhDs aims to make culturally intelligent mentoring a more common practice. Her consulting work extends this by educating all on the importance of inclusion and how empowerment can be found through readily implemented evidence-based practice and evaluation.
