Graduate Certificate

Journey to a certificate as an Arizona Wildcat.

The Graduate Certificate in Cyber Operations is appropriate for students with a computing or cybersecurity undergraduate degree and students with unrelated undergraduate degrees that desire to enter the cybersecurity domain as practitioners, academics, and researchers. The coursework is a blend of introductory principles in security scripting and cybersecurity principles, followed by more advanced courses in offensive and defensive cyber operations. The curriculum is delivered fully online through CAST’s unique and state-of-the-art Cyber Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). The VLE is built around Cyberapolis, a virtual world where students learn and practice both their offensive and defensive cyber skills. The VLE is an unstructured, synthetic, live environment designed to replicate the real internet; providing a realistic, non-scripted platform that forces students to synthesize and apply what they learn. The Graduate Certificate in Cyber Operations is fully stackable to our Master of Science in Cyber & Information Operations.

CAST is part of the National Cybersecurity Teaching Academy (NCTA) consortium. The NCTA is focused on building teachers’ knowledge and skills in cybersecurity and providing them with a cybersecurity credential. The certificate develops teachers’ content knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge, and curriculum knowledge so they are well prepared to teach cybersecurity.
