Professor Adams is a seasoned IT and Cybersecurity professional, with an impressive background spanning 26 years. His wealth of experiences encompasses IT support, administration, management, and education in both large and small organizations including over a dozen years of federal service as a contractor US Navy, US Army, and FBI, and as an employee of HHS. Prof. Adams believes in the power of knowledge sharing and has imparted his wisdom by teaching hundreds of courses and workshops in IT, computer science, business, and cybersecurity at notable institutions such as UA, ASU, and NAU, and others.

Prof. Adams' dedication to learning is evident from his extensive educational background. He holds an undergraduate degree (BBA) from Boise State University and three graduate degrees from the University of Phoenix (MBA) and the University of Arizona (MS MIS and MS Cybersecurity). Currently, he is working towards obtaining his Doctor of Technology from Purdue Polytechnic Institute. His achievements extend beyond academics; Troy is a recognized figure within the Arizona cybersecurity community serving as the President of the Southern Arizona Chapter of ISC2, and Health Sector Chief of Arizona InfraGard.

Prof. Adams mentors the University of Arizona Cyber Saguaros and a number of career-focused non-profit organizations and actively participates in the FBI Citizens Academy. As an ardent speaker on cybersecurity and operational resiliency topics, Troy can often be found delivering impactful speeches across the west.
