Dr. Steven Wood retired from the United States Army after performing his first digital forensic examination in 1993. His primary work is as a contractor in Germany, supporting a national-level digital forensic laboratory in an operational capacity. He has completed over 4,000 criminal cases and testified in over 450 criminal trials as a government expert. Dr. Wood develops cellular and media exploitation (CELLEX and MEDEX) courses, conducts needs assessments, and provides training as well as operational support to specialized government units around the world. Dr. Wood earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems from the City University of Seattle in 2003 and a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems from the Florida Institute of Technology in 2006. Dr. Wood earned a Master of Science in Cybersecurity with specializations in Cyber Intelligence and Digital Forensics from Utica College in 2014. He also teaches in the Master of Science in Cybersecurity program at Utica College and successfully defended his dissertation for a Doctor of Science in Cybersecurity degree from Capitol Technology University on 11 November 2019. Dr. Wood recently started working toward a Ph.D. in Counterterrorism from Capitol Technology University.
