Teaching philosophy:

I want students to feel they have influence on the learning process. They should feel confident that the work they do and the information the garner expands on what they know and challenges them to learn more. I want guidance and information presented in several forms to meet each student’s learning preference. I believe instruction needs to be clear not complicated.

I want to help individuals to understand how they think and what they know. I want to inspire them to understand why they come to conclusions and to be objective to see if they are correct. I want to teach adults to continually challenge the “why”. I want to show them the means of justifying what we believe by using facts, theories, and research. I wish to teach using historical examples of what was considered truth and compare it to what was reality.  I believe some of the most beneficial learning can come from researching situations that the unexpected occurs and providing a clear example of challenging what we know.
