Beth King is our Retention Specialist who helps shape CAST advising through data and empirical methods. They utilize UA's wealth of Institutional data as well as their own professional experiences in providing access and retention services through the years. Beth believes everyone should have access to the proper tools and support to thrive in an educational environment. Beth has supported both undergraduate and graduate students throughout their careers, with a special focus on the experience of first-generation, post-traditional, and transfer students. Their work has been shaped through the application of holistic proactive advising, and this perspective is what also shapes their data analysis practices. Beth has developed and begun implementing CAST's first specialized academic intervention, and projects to bolster holistic support equity. Beth holds a B.S. in Psychology from Colorado State University and an M.Ed in Educational Foundations from NAU. When they are not crunching numbers, Beth enjoys yoga, hiking with their tiny dogs, and baking.
